Newtonmore Golf Course Overview

If you’re heading for the Highlands on a golfing tour or a Highland holiday and happen to have your clubs with you, or whether you live locally on Speyside and are looking for a welcoming local golf club for a great game and social scene, you’ve come to the right place.

The perfectly manicured subtle greens and fairways of the contoured 18-hole, 6031 yard Newtonmore course stretch along the Spey Valley in a natural amphitheatre created by the Cairngorm and Monadliadh Mountains. You’ll find the River Spey running alongside the 10th hole.

If you land in the rough be prepared to be distracted by the colourful array of wild flowers (including orchids) you’ll come across, along with birds and wildlife.

The Par 70 parkland course is easy to walk, but don’t write this clever course off as too effortless and uncomplicated. In actual fact each hole presents some challenges provided by the layout, and can test the skill of golfers of all levels and abilities. After all, this course owes a lot to the legendary designer James Braid as regards its design.
